Daniel Craig wants to turn James Bond into a bumbling fool. The British actor - who replaced Pierce Brosnan in the latest installment ofthe spy franchise, "Casino Royale" - thinks it will make the iconic character "more exciting."Craig revealed: "I just wanted to see him make a few mistakes. I want to make the audience believe that it's all going to go wrong and then when it goes right it's much more exciting."

He added: "Nobody knows more than I do how important this is, and it's myjob to get it right."

However, the 38-year-old doesn't want Bond fans to think he is changing thecharacter too drastically.

He revealed to People magazine: "I'm a Bond fan and I'm focused on makingthis film. If I go and see a Bond movie there are certain things I think should be in it. And they are. We've got them in spades."

Earlier this year, angry 007 enthusiasts set up an online petition urging moviegoers to boycott the new film - in protest against Craig.

The group of disgruntled fans want people to log onto website www.craignotbond.com and register their protest over the decision to replace Brosnan with the "Layer Cake" star.
